Board seeking recogintion

It's been a few weeks, thanks to the holiday break, since there was a post. But as soon as I got back to work I found the school board is seeking recognition because January is School Board Appreciation Month or some such nonsense. What is even funnier is that you (the taxpayers) are paying for people to write press releases and send out bulletins alerting the media about the event. There will be a big hoopla at this month's meeting, in addition to the typical dog and pony show we are all treated to. I wonder if Dr. Thomas will treat us to a third showing of his PowerPoint presentation on how great BISD is?
For those who don't follow the district closely, you might not realize it but this is also the month that the board performs its annual evaluation of Dr. Thomas. We are all putting together information so the board can say how great he is and how he has done so much to improve BISD.
Never mind the fact that we are being investigated by the FBI, among other state and federal agencies. Yeah, there is a breaking news item for you media people, it is not just the FBI that is looking into the district's business.
We have also heard that a number of people have been interviewed by the FBI and that they are spilling the beans on everything they know. Like, did you know that Dr. Thomas has a slush fund that he can access to pay for things without board approval? I thought he worked for them. LOL! That is a joke. He has carte blanche to do whatever he wants and when someone tells him no, he plays the race card or makes their lives miserable.
When this blog first appeared he was furious and Jessie has been trying to figure out which one of us is responsible. Too bad for them.
People need to know what is happening in BISD and they need to be aware of the upcoming elections. There will be a ton of people trying to get on the board and right now, Jessie is working behind the scenes to figure out the best strategy of who to run against the BETTER group. They know that Terry Williams and Woodrow Reece are vulnerable so they are trying to get people to run and dilute the vote like the did a few years ago with Martha Hicks. The goal is to keep four supporters (black or white) on the board so they can do what they want. Yes, they are talking to a couple of whites to run, as well. They also have their attorney working to get the Department of Justice to void any changes to the make-up of the board.
Several reporters have contacted me wanting to do an interview but obviously that is not possible, plus there is only one person in the media that I really trust. I don't post too often but bear with me, as things get heated up, I will update it here.

  1. Interesting post. What BISD is finding out, and we at BETTER have just recently found out, is that the petition MUST go on the ballot at this point. The BISD legal counsel was incorrect at the last meeting when she told Dr. Nantz that the next step is the Justice Department. The Justice Department told us (BETTER) that pre-clearance happens IF the petition passes, not before.

I think this is great since Paul Jones told BEST at one of their meetings that their best opportunity to stop the petition was at the Justice Department step before it goes on the ballot. I bet they have been wringing their hands, after picking themselves up off the floor, trying to find out how to stop it from going to the voters. They know that we have over 10,000 who have signed the petition and we will get out the vote.

BISD will also be suprised to find out that BETTER is not putting up candidates for the May election. We WILL be endorsing people, but not putting together the slate of "white" candidates like they assume. You see, BETTER has never been all about white control of the board like the opposition has always said.

Jesse can come up with all the white candidates she wants, but the voters WILL find out who is for the current BISD leadership and who is not.

I can't figure out who at the Admin is posting this blog, but I am PROUD of you for speaking out. I personally have been interviewed by the FBI and I gave them quite an ear full about LOTS of things I witnessed after Dr. Thomas became the dictator of BISD. My goal is to see the man and a few his little henchmen become wards of the federal prison system. Wouldn't it be ironic if BISD was stuck with a 45 Million dollar shrine named after a CONVICT?

  3. Last night, the BISD board just gave the man who cost the district almost half a million dollars in a settlement for a molested student by an employee he backed, a $14,000 raise!

    Come on, May! Election time!

  4. Sooo, as recently reported by The Southeast Texas Political Review, will The Examiner really post an investigative report regarding BISD spokesperson Jessie Haynes? And, perhaps it IS true: The longer an official investigation is conducted, the greater the possibility that there will be more community members who will be seeking legal representation.

Yes i am a BISD employer and have seen the changes he has made for the better. It was a time before Dr. Thomas came to this city when no one knew what going on how much money no one made inspite of the money was beng miss handle. No one knew what was being built in the district until you seen it already happen or you see it comng up and it was not for all taxpayers. The district was ery much divided into two districts Black on one side and whites on the other side Dr.Thomas try to let the public know and see were tax payers money are going and that is on every child wellfare for education children can learn more in a well kept and clean environment when they feel someone cares for them.Your mind is moving on the wrong thing look in the mirrow and ask yourself can any of us through any stones at anyone or blame someone for trying to make it better for your child as well as evryone.

It looks like we have come full circle. Dr. Thomas did many good things for this district years back but has allowed people with agendas to take control of him and the district. Open your eyes and stop living in the past.
